Ten years ago I ended up in Macedonia. What started as a job organising education for refugees ended up as a mission for the United Nations in Kosovo. My book, The Gypsy Prophesy, charts the adventures of a middle-class schoolteacher from the Home Counties suddenly thrown into the middle of a war zone.
